Knowledge, understanding, and planning is at the foundation of every smart program. The vision of MCSC Institute, interwoven through all programs and events, is education. From professional courses, webinars, dissemination of relevant R&D, industry networking, fellowships, incubation, and providing a "Start Smart" program for K-12 education, we believe that Smart must start early and continue throughout the life of every project and every person.
The MCSC Institute will offer events throughout the year, both live and virtual, taking full advantage of the many technological media advances to effectively allow the real time experience to be recreated. Members will receive advance email notification of all such events and will be requested to RSVP. The conference series entitled "Energy Matters" will focus on the most timely, critical topics in smart development and will feature experts and thought leaders from across the world.
The first two programs of 2021 will be held in Q2 and will be global virtual conference on the topic of SMART CITY DESIGN & THE CRITICAL PATH TO DECENTRALIZING ENERGY and PRIORITIZING HEALTH AND WELLNESS IN SMART CITY DESIGN. These topics are timely and relevant, given the worldwide pandemic and considering the opportunities presented by the Smart City movement. Decentralizing is a key to smart because energy generated, stored and consumed locally is the most efficient, robust use of energy Health and Wellness is a foremost consideration for a city----and all its human residents----to realize its potential. Speakers for this program will be thought leaders, innovators, and visionaries representing education, the building industry, energy experts and wellness champions, who will address the wealth of opportunities that are pivotal to the true success of a Smart City.
Each Fall, MCSC Institute will host the global Undergraduate Energy Innovator competition, that will culminate in a monetary award given for the top design produced by an undergraduate college student or team.
The MCSC Institute also provides four research fellowships annually that include a monthly stipend and living accommodations. At the end of each year, a conference will be held at MCSC that includes a live and virtual international audience for the presentation of the Fellows' research results and a launch of their companies, with investor involvement opportunities.
The MCSC Institute, through the MCSC development, can offer a place for new technologies to be tested in a physical environment and perfected for the marketplace. The MCSC Institute can facilitate access to markets where these innovative products are used to produce efficiency, productivity and sustainability in both existing and new structures and communities.
